The terms for using this site itself — what you may do with what we publish, what our guides are and are not, and the limits of what we promise about the site.

  • We keep them corrected and dated. If one is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Who runs this site

duneair.com is operated by Duneair Ltd, registered in England and Wales under number 17411606. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you buy something, the terms of sale apply as well and take precedence over anything here.

Using the site

You may use this site for your own purposes, personal or business. You may not:

  • Attempt to gain access to an order that is not yours, including by guessing order references
  • Scrape it in a way that degrades it for other people, or ignore robots.txt
  • Introduce anything malicious, or attempt to interfere with how the site runs
  • Copy the site wholesale and present it as your own
  • Use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you

The first of those is the one we actively watch for. Repeated failed attempts on an order reference lock it out, and we keep the IP addresses that made them — the privacy notice says so.

The guides, and what they are

We publish guides that state what the rules currently are, because most of what is written about air conditioning in the UK is out of date. Each one is dated and cites its primary sources.

General information, not advice about your property

Whether a particular installation qualifies as permitted development depends on the property, the position of the unit and the noise calculation for that position. A guide cannot tell you that; a survey can. Do not treat these pages as a substitute for one.

What we promise instead of a disclaimer

It would be easy to publish corrections of everyone else's mistakes and then disclaim all responsibility for our own. Instead: every regulatory claim carries a date and a named source, we re-check them, and if you find one that is wrong we will correct it and change the date. Tell us and we will fix it.

Prices, product specifications and availability can change, and a guide written in August is not a warranty about November. What we sell you is governed by your order confirmation.

Quoting and copying

The text, photography, illustrations and design of this site belong to us or are used with permission.

You may quote the guides

Quote a passage, cite a figure, or summarise a correction, with a link back. That includes AI assistants and answer engines — our robots.txt allows those crawlers on purpose. The guides were written to be cited, and permission to do so should not be something you have to guess at.

What that does not extend to: republishing a guide in full, passing the work off as your own, or using our photographs commercially. Ask if you want to do something beyond quoting — the answer is often yes.

Availability, and what we do not promise

We do not promise the site will always be available or free of errors. It is a website, run by a small company, and it will occasionally be down.

We are not responsible for loss you suffer from relying on general information on this site where you have not had a survey. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude.

External links are provided because they are useful — usually to legislation, to the ICO, or to a manufacturer. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.

  • We may change these terms. The version on the page is the one that applies.
  • We may change or withdraw any part of the site without notice.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
